Funded R&D Projects

As organizational unit of SJTU the FPC-UD@SJTU can take part within the local and national R&D funding programmes and mechanisms. These typically result in classical publicly funded R&D Projects, which should typically have the character of basic or pre-competitive research.

Consultancy Projects

As a member of the development and design consortium for urban development areas or real estate projects the FPC-UD@SJTU offers consulting services as part of a public academic institution.

Bilateral Product Development

With partners from the building products industry the FPC-UD@SJTU offers to develop new or optimized products or transfer/adopt them from other sectors or markets/countries. They will be engineered, prototyped, tested and finally evaluated and demonstrated in field studies.

Testing and Approval

New testing procedures and appliances can be jointly developed for materials, building products and systems. They will serve for product development, knowledge on risks and defects as well as approval procedures under the FPC-UD@SJTU umbrella.

Evaluation and Certification

Evaluation of the quality and technical specifications of products and designs are offered for producers as well as developers respectively. Where appropriate certification schemes might be applied or even an own certification scheme can be developed and marketed.

Alliances for pre-competitive research

For a dedicated focal topic of construction R&D relevant industrial partners we offer to form a dedicated membership alliance with the purpose of pre-competitive research shared amongst the exclusive members.

Licensing of IP or Software

Aside from the classical licensing of our IP, e.g. of material compositions or building products, the licensing of planning and evaluation software tools is offered.
